How long will my laboratory coat
last?
We are often asked this
question.
Polypropylene is a man
made fibre like nylon or polyester and is very strong, so it is hard to wear it
out. Polypropylene is more durable than cotton.
After a period of time any
laboratory coat will become soiled and need changing. Our polypropylene
laboratory coats will not become soiled any quicker or slower than cotton ones,
although some of our polypropylene laboratory coats are made from liquid
resistant materials and do not wet through.
When the cotton laboratory coat is
soiled you will need to send it to the laundry and hope they can get the stains
out and then purchase another laboarotory coat. Sometimes you will need to purchase 3 laboratory coats
to begin with, one on, one in the wash and one spare.
When our polypropylene
laboratory coats become soiled, you just obtain another laboratory coat from the stores. The cost of
this replacement laboratory coat will often be less than the cost of laundering the cotton laboratory coat.
Using polypropylene
laboratory coats instead of cotton laboratory coats returns big savings. The comparison is
simple, pay the price for 3 cotton laboratory coats and add the cost for expensive
unreliable laundering, or buy a box of our inexpensive polypropylene laboratory
coats and forget the laundering altogether.
