The primary purpose of Shoe Covers is to protect floors and other walkable areas from damage, dirt and other detritus. They come in a range of different materials each offering something different. In each case the wearer is either attempting to preventing damage to their shoes or as in most cases preventing dirt and damaged to the floor surface. It is no longer possible to remove shoe borne dirt by rubbing them on a mat before entering an area, something must be wore over the shoe to prevent that contamination from being carried forwards.  There are 3 primary types of disposable shoe covers on the market, each comes in different grades or weights, and all are made from a plastic derivative, so they have wet strength and will not "wetout" and could be worn several times.

 CPE shoe cover.

This material is similar to Low Density Polyethylene or LDP which is the same material of carrier bags and bin liners etc. it is fairly strong, will not allow liquids to pass through it and comes in different grades or weights. Like carrier bags, the thinner or lighter the weight, the less strength it has. We would not recommend anything less than 3.2g/pc, lighter grades may cost less, but have little strength.  Polypropylene shoe covers.

These shoe covers are stronger than the CPE types and are usually worn on carpets and soft floors to protect them from dirt and damage. Ideal for cleaners, tradesmen and anyone visiting your home, showroom or office wearing outdoor footwear. One size fits all. Custom colours and company logos are available to special order.

 Non slip hard floor shoe cover.

These polypropylene shoe covers have a non-slip tread on the sole to help prevent slipping or scratching on hard floors.
