Single use garments

Jackets or blouse and pants sets
Single use" garments are manufactured from a spunbond hydro entangled polypropylene. There are basically three types commonly in use for single use garments. The first and least expensive is a light weight polypropylene; the second is a composite multilayer of spunbond, meltblown and spunbond making a tough composite. The third type is ShieldOut a spunbond with bonded liquid barrier film. All these single use materials are resistant to mould and mildew, strong and resistant to wear and abrasion, have wet strength and do not "wet out" They are breathable with a high permeability to air.
These single use materials meet the demands of industries where low cost "single use" personal protection garments are required either to protect the wearer or the work environment or both. They are cool and comfortable to wear. Due to their low cost they are economic to be worn once as single use garments, or how ever often it is deemed necessary before becoming contaminated and then disposed of or sent for re-cycling.
Levels of protection.
These single use materials which are all are wet laid hydro entangled polypropylene offer a type 5 particle entrapment for particulate larger than 1um. This is suitable where the only protection needed is to prevent the physical transfer of particles and is available in a range of material weights. Polypropylene garments such as our "ShieldOut" is a microporous monolithic film which also provides excellent fluid repellencey, normally classified as type 6. These are suitable when non hazardous liquid exchange may represent a problem.
All these "single use" materials are soft and comfortable to wear and are normally consider hypo-allergenic; they do not trap body heat so remain cool in use.
Styles and types of single use garments.
Available as either long length laboratory style coats or short length jackets and pants with either long or short sleeves, in a range of attractive colours. Collars can be added or removed as can the addition of pockets. Packaged singly or sets for ease of storage or use.
Sterilization and cleanliness.
The single use materials are fully compatible with advanced sterilization processes such as Ethylene Oxide [Eto] to completely denature DNA and provide the user with a biological sterile product.
The product is naturally lint free and will not shed or introduce additional contamination into the work area.
Laundering.
The use of these "single use" products removes the necessity of employing expensive and inconvenient washing processes. Where contamination in use is an issue, the problems and costs associated with laundering and reuse can be very high.
Conclusion.
For some industries the application of "single use" garments is the only way to reduce the importation of unhygienic practices. Each garment is clean when worn and disposed of when contaminated. This is a low cost and convenient solution, for care areas and instances of disaster management. The cost comparison between traditional garments requiring washing or laundering is heavily in favour of the "single use" item.
"Single use" polypropylene items are low in purchase cost, meet the most demanding of performance criteria and can be safely and inexpensively disposed of or recycled after use.
