Which isolation gown is best for my needs?

Speciality textiles supplies 3 type of isolation gown, made from a range of materials to suit all applications.

1.       Isolation gowns for visitors and medical staff that are not going to come into contact with liquids or blood products. These are normally coloured yellow and are made from polypropylene, usually 30 gms.  This material is soft and comfortable to wear and does not cause overheating. This material could be considered hydrophobic in so much as they repel liquids. The isolation gowns have Velcro ties at the neck for fast donning and undoing and tapes at the side for easy gathering. Sleeves end in soft white knitted cuffs. The isolation gowns have colour coded collars for easy identification, either to control movement or frequency or replacement. These isolation gowns can be supplied Eto sterilized. This is a very low cost isolation gown. Has a degree of light transparency.

2.

3.       Isolation gowns for personnel who are going to come into contacts with liquids. These are normally coloured light blue and are made from polypropylene, usually 30 gsm with an outer layer of polyethylene, usually 15 gsm. The inner layer of polypropylene is soft and comfortable to wear. This material could be considered hydrophobic in so much as they repel liquids. These isolation gowns can have heat sealed seams for complete liquid protection. They have Velcro ties at the neck for fast donning and undoing and tapes at the side for easy gathering. Sleeves end in soft white knitted cuffs. The Isolation gowns have colour coded collars for easy identification, either to control movement or frequency or replacement. These Isolation gowns can be supplied Eto sterilized. This is a low cost isolation gown. Has a limited light transparency.

4.       Isolation gowns for people who have frequent contact with medical procedures, sometimes called surgical gowns, they have a reinforced inner layer at the front and in the sleeves of polyethylene to prevent liquids passing through. These are normally coloured blue and are made from multilayered polypropylene, usually 60 gms  SMS [Spunbond/meltblown/Spunbond] or 50 gms SMMS [Spunbond/meltblown/meltblown/Spunbond] the later material providing less light transmission and better liquid penetration prevention. The inner layer of polypropylene is soft and comfortable to wear. This material could be considered hydrophobic in so much as they repel liquids. This gown can have heat sealed seams for complete liquid protection. They have Velcro ties at the neck for fast donning and undoing, tales at the back for complete enclosure and tapes at the side for easy gathering. Sleeves end in soft white knitted cuffs. The surgical gowns have colour coded collars for easy identification, either to control movement or frequency or replacement. These surgical gowns can be supplied Eto sterilized. These surgical gowns are slightly more expensive than the single layered polypropylene isolation gowns. Has little or no light transparency.

5.       Isolation gowns for people who have frequent contact with medical procedures, sometimes called Surgical gowns. These are normally coloured blue and are made from Spunlace usually 50 gms, this material most closely resembles linen and is very soft and comfortable to wear although it is hydrophilic , but retains its wet strength. These surgical gowns have Velcro ties at the neck for fast donning and undoing, tales at the back for complete enclosure and tapes at the side for easy gathering. Sleeves end in soft white knitted cuffs. These surgical gowns have colour coded collars for easy identification, either to control movement or frequency or replacement. These garments can be supplied Eto sterilized. This item is normally the most expensive surgical gown. Has limited light transparency.

All isolation gowns are supplied in generous sizes. All isolation gowns can be supplied ETO sterilized.
